About Sea Breeze Old Age Home

Testimonials

My Uncle is above 75 years old and has been staying in Sea Breeze Old Age Home for the past 9 years. He was ill and weak at that time when we put him in this home as we could not take good care of him. Honestly we did not think he would live longer. Thanks to the good care offered by the caretakers in this Home that he is healthy & walking even today. We visit him often and there are no restrictions to spend time with him in his separate room. Thank God that we found this home at the right time.

Why Sea Breeze Old Age Home

It helps you to live your life peacefully in your old age.

Gone are the days when there was joint family system. The elders in the joint family were taken care with respect, love and affection. Today it is very rare to find joint families. The world and society today has changed its course according to the economic environment. The rapid urbanization, skyrocketing prices, search for jobs and migration for better opportunities has affected the joint family system. With Globalization offering a wide range of opportunities ,the younger generation like settling abroad. But aged people do not find it comfortable to accompany their children. As the children migrate and settle down away from their homes, they find it difficult to take care of their parents. In some families aged people are considered as a burden. Thus not all elders are fortunate enough to be taken good care by their children in their old age. Increasing crimes on senior citizens has become a harsh reality today. Newspapers flooded with such news articles stand test to this. The need of the hour is security, not only physical, but also psychological.

No matter how brave a person is, there is always a fear of unknown.

What will happen if I slip and fall down?

Who will take care of me in case of an emergency?

Will I get a good last rite?

These are the fears which appear in the minds of aged people, particularly, those who live alone. Even worse are the problems of the childless elderly people. So at Sea breeze old age home, we with over a decade experience in senior and geriatric care, recognize the needs of the seniors and give them best service and care.

Our Founder

In Her (Dr. Manasa) words

Being a robust social worker from the age of 17, I have actively associated myself in the fight for the rights of women, children and elderly people. I have played a vital role in solving nearly 175 Dowry disputes. I have also indulged myself in conducting counselling for family disputes (nearly 95 families ) and was successful in settling them.

During the 2004 Tsunami, I visited the places affected in Chennai and immediately involved myself in providing proper relief and rehabilitation to the victims. I setup a rehabilitation centre to provide temporary accommodation for the needy and also provided them with proper food, clothing and other basic amenities. I also involved myself in constructing new homes and shelter for the affected people.

I associated myself with Help Age India and volunteered in adopting orphan elderly people and provided them proper food and shelter. I have performed the funerals of morethan 75 elders who deceased in our senior citizens home; the ceremonies were according to their religious customs. At present, I am successfully taking care of nearly 50 elderly people.

"Trees grow stronger over the years, rivers wider. Likewise, with age, human beings gain immeasurable depth and breadth of experience and wisdom. That is why older persons should be not only respected and revered; they should be utilized as the rich resource to society that they are”
